Baby watch & new beginnings

This was quite an interesting weekend.  Eye-opening and eye-shutting.  I have spent the past couple of days preparing for my nephew's arrival with my sister(s) and brother-in-law.  It was a lot of fun and so great to spend time with my family.  I started it off with a decent yoga practice on Friday evening which (at least) helped me stop hating the world a little bit.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about myself and life - pretty selfish thinking.  What I should be doing long-term, what I should be doing short-term, who I should trust, and most of all when my life is going to make sense.  We did a lot of hip openers on Friday and I never felt so tight - I knew all the emotion and anxiety that I have been feeling was sitting right in my hips.  I pushed and did what I could - then came up with ways to make myself FEEL better throughout the weekend.  Here are the top 5 things I did that made me SO happy:

1) Shopping.  Mark (bro-in-law) and I went to Tiffany's to buy Kristine's push-present.  I took this as an opportunity to get the Infinity ring I have been eyeing up for a few months.
2) Mani & Pedi. Krissy and I went to get a nice deluxe pedicure and manicure pre-baby.

3) Bud Light Lime - enough said.
4) Mellow Mushroom pizza
5) Find my next book to read.  After a trip to Barnes & Nobles (Kristine wanted some funny books to read during labor - like she will be able to concentrate on reading?) I decided to finally start Why Men Love BitchesIt's always come highly recommended - so, why not?

I feel slightly better coming out of this weekend - better, but anxious for the next couple of months.  I think there will be a lot of changes, more ups and downs, and I am not sure what this feeling I am feeling is.  I told my sister April during a trip to Handel's for ice cream last night that I would love my blog to change someone's life.  She told me I need to focus on changing my life first.  Interesting perspective.

Before I go, two other little miracles happened this weekend.
Cats and Dogs CAN get along (and for those of you that know Kiki, Krissy's cat, it is a miracle she gets along with anyone or anything).
Bud Light Lime gave me a new kind of liquid courage - enough that I was able to go into a forearm stand against the wall.  (My one New Year's resolution is to be able to do a forearm stand on my own by the end of the year - getting there!).
